Guiding proteins with light.

I'm a professor of chemistry working in the general area of applied protein biotechnology. My group studies how proteins can be used to control biological systems. To accomplish this, my lab develops optogenetic tools and other protein-based tools with applications across cell biology, neuroscience, and therapeutic discovery.
